What a busy couple of months!
I just wanted to take some time out to spotlight some of my late summer/fall shoots. After the Open Studio, I was so busy it was hard enough to keep up with the editing, so I did not make time for the blog. I picked out my favorite photos from each shoot to share with everyone here! Enjoy! And remember, my blog LOVES comments and to be shared
Thank you for respecting my work and my copyrights. Please use these images with permission and ensure the logo remains in tact if you share on social networks. Thank you!!!!!
Oh Violet. My favorite subject this year! Of course, I’m partial to this little one, she’s my niece (even though she’s technically my second cousin, we’ve decided that I’m going to be known as “Aunt Birdie” – kinda like we always thought Bev was our aunt! haha)
Photos like this one make me so happy since she’s choosy with her smiles. I know she was looking up at mommy and daddy, and how sweet it was to capture this little smirk. Can’t wait to take all of your photos as you grow!

Animal people can be particular. It’s an honor to me when they choose epc photos to capture moments with their furry family members. This is Summer and Sir, my good from Brenda’s doggies. (heyyyy sweater dress!) Sir is the leader of the pack, but Summer definitely gets what she wants when she wants it. They ran around on this hot day and needed some time under the water fountain! This photo is probably one of my favorite pics I’ve ever snapped, which is why I chose it for the “Best of “blog.

I’ve had a great year in 2010 for senior photos. Bekah is a very special girl (daughter of Tony, Vinnie’s boss) who let me be a part of her awesome after school activities. She’s very dedicated to working with all kinds of animals. This session started out at the Delaware Fairgrounds where she trains horses. Later we headed over to the OWC where she works with birds of prey and the other animals housed in the facility. Her mom and dad are very much a part of this as well, and we have to thank them for volunteering so much of their time to helping these creatures!
This was my favorite shot of the day – inside the stable area.

What a cutie! This is Lisa and Karl’s nephew Nyles, having a laughing fit during our photo shoot this summer. We had all the nieces and nephews together (it was challenging) but getting photos like this make the challenge worthwhile!

I’ve been lucky this year — I’ve gained 4 nieces and even a GREAT niece this year! This is Mia, my oldest niece. Such a beauty! She was fantastic the day of her shoot. Willing to go anywhere I took her, despite the rain (which you can see in this photo if you look close!) and cold. She even put on a pair of point shoes and demonstrated her ballet skills in the middle of a dirty old alley! But WOW did the photos come out fantastic! She made my vision come to life, and then some, especially when she was completely willing to sit in my ugly chair! (haha I love that chair!)
This has to be my favorite shot. It’s so interesting in so many ways, and her body language and expression make the photo! (Like my strategically placed logo?) Thank Mia for making your new aunt so proud and rockin’ this photo shoot!

This is Eli – another one of Lisa and Karl’s nephews. This photo is extra special to me, because of that genuine smile! (Not an easy feat this day!) We had about 3 minutes during this shoot where he was all smiles. I think we freaked him out a bit with our carrying on behind the camera, trying to get all of the little ones to look. He covered his ears a lot that day! haha

Here’s another exclusive animal shoot — Halley, a spunky little Shitz tzu. This was a referral from a friend that i work with. 2010 has been a great year for new clients (people that I don’t actually know!) so I appreciate any referral that I receive. It was great to meet you Melissa! Love your doggie

Another shot from the Gillam niece and nephew session. This is Gracie – a beautiful little blonde with a lot of energy. My favorite thing about this photos is I got all these smiles from her as she was saying NO and yelling at the camera. But she couldn’t help smile while she did it! Hey, it worked for me! haha

This is one of my favorite shots taken from a 3 part session this summer. My first high school senior couple shoot – this is Cody, my niece Alysha’s boyfriend. We went downtown on a chilly weekend and were able to get some FANTASTIC pics! This smirk makes all the girls weak in the knees

Here is Alysha – my beautiful niece! So happy to have been chosen to take her senior photos! Despite the cold, she was all smiles and so excited to be having her pictures taken – she made my job so easy!! Definitely one of my favorite photos of her, staring off in the distance at Cody watching nearby. We had a great time walking around the arena district, an experience I will never forget!

Here’s my favorite shot of the two of them together!

Ahhh, Halloween! Everyone knows this is my favorite time of year! I put on a costume shoot and even though this one is a shot of Finn without his lobster costume on, I just had to call it my favorite. Finn Herman (only boy born to a Pink) – son of Cole and Scott Ann has been in front of my camera several times this year. I’m so happy to get the opportunity to document his first year, and am very much looking forward to his 1 year shoot! This is shot on my seamless, and even though studio work is not my favorite, I thought I would bust it out for Halloween. Just a little something different

Another senior shoot – this is Jordan, Mia’s friend who was another subject that just breezed through her senior pictures. She could rock a smile or a serious look, and was absolutely adorable in her hat! This is by far my favorite photo of her, it was hard to pick! Her eyes just jumped out of every photo even without enhancing them! What a beautiful day at Inniswood Gardens with a beautiful girl!

I headed down to southern Ohio to Hocking Hills for this shoot featuring Roscoe, a 26 year old horse owned by my friend’s Kathy and Smitty. Roscoe was quite a horse in his earlier days, and now he’s retired and living out his days on Sycamore Farm. Kathy wanted to have a special shoot with him, since he’s got a bad leg, and they are not sure how much longer he will be with us
I love this shot because it’s so Roscoe. After we took him out by the sycamore trees for his close up, he walked back to the barn and put himself away in his paddock. He’s got a routine and he knows where to go and when he’s had enough! I thought this was a very special photo because I’m sure this is how Kathy and Smitty will remember him during his last years.

Keegan Dyer — another participant in the Halloween costume shoot
This one is special because it think it’s the only one where she is wearing her hood and she’s not trying to pull it off! Keegan is another very important lady this year, the 1st of the four “Pink Babies” born this year. I’ve been there since the beginning, and I hope to keep on seeing her in front of my camera for years to come!

This is Oliver, nephew to Cole and cousin to Finn (see above) I love this photo because Oli was on the go for most of the shoot, and I was so happy to get a great photo of him sitting and looking at the camera. One of the few kids I know that doesn’t mind wearing a hat, he was rockin’ this newsboy look

The Gibson’s made my downtown Granville shoot come to life! I’ve been wanting to get down there for a session for over a year now, and I thought they would be the perfect family to shoot there. Christy is a FANTASTIC photographer, specializing in weddings. I have had the honor to shoot with her this summer and are even teaming up for a very special project in a couple weeks. We have a great relationship and we are constantly helping each other out and there is never any competition between us. She’s my photography soul mate!

This shoot is hot off the press, taken this afternoon! My friend April, the referral queen is to thank for this family session! She gave her brother’s family an epc photos gift certificate for a their FIRST family shoot ever! I was honored
Thanks Fairchild family!

Well, since I started with Violet, I had to end with her too! This was Trick or Treat night, where I had planned on doing some shots of the kids in the neighborhood in their costumes, but the weather prevented this
But that’s ok, because i got my fill with Violet! We expected the worst, but ended up getting a great session our of her with NO CRYING and no fighting with the costumes that she wore! Smiles were still hard to come by, but her face is so cute, that it didn’t matter!!!

WHEW!!!! What a season! I can’t thank you all enough for your kind words and support for my growing business. I have noticed the increase in clients this year, and I appreciate all of you! So many of you are repeat customers, and that says so much about what you think of my work. Every “Like” and comment I receive on my Facebook page gives me such a good feeling, and fuels me to keep working hard to make your photos great. Thank you again for such a fantastic year, and I hope to see all of you very soon!
